Facts you can checkat home
We print grain length on every bag and only say “basmati” when it is. Here is what that means, and how to test it in your own kitchen.
What eachrice is

Three checksfor real basmati

- Measure a grain. Line ten raw grains end to end on a ruler and divide by ten. Our 1121 should average around 8.4 mm.
- Watch it grow. Good basmati lengthens as it cooks, roughly doubling, and stays slim rather than swelling fat.
- Lift a spoonful. The grains should fall apart from each other, not clump, and smell of basmati as the lid comes off.
Sorted, sealed,labelled
Each lot is cleaned and sorted for size and colour before packing, then sealed into a 5 kg PE/PET bag with a carry handle.
The variety and grain length are printed on the front; the cooking method and nutrition panel are on the back. Lot test reports for moisture, broken grains and grain length are available to trade and bulk buyers on request.
